About the Author

Sandra Hanken has worked as an elementary school teacher, crisis shelter worker, parenting educator, and is currently a family social worker. For many years, Sandra aspired to write “a book that would encourage children’s belief in themselves and their abilities.” Surrounded by woods and wildlife, Sandra and her husband live in their country home near Chisholm, Minnesota.

About the Illustrator

An internationally acclaimed artist, Jody Bergsma is one of America's most accomplished watercolorists. Jody's Dreamkeepers style has been deeply inspired by her visits to Ireland and the sixth century city of Glendalough; her Natural Elements style was inspired by visits to Alaska, the Queen Charlotte Islands, and Washington's Olympic Peninsula. Jody is the author and illustrator of the DragonFireTrilogy (Dragon, Wizard, Faerie) She also illustrated two other Illumination Arts books (The Right Touch and Dreambirds).
